Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Mocked Up collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It covers mockedup.co.nz itself (our consultation and contact forms) and the custom software systems we design, build and operate on behalf of our clients.

If you're an end user of a system we built for one of our clients, most of your data is controlled by that client, not by us. See "Systems we build & operate" below for exactly what role we play and how to have your data addressed.

Who we are

Mocked Up is a software consultancy based in Auckland, New Zealand. We design and engineer custom business systems, from internal platforms to full production applications, using modern technology and current engineering practice to solve problems most off-the-shelf tools can't.

For the purposes of privacy law, Mocked Up is the "data controller" for mockedup.co.nz itself, and typically acts as a "data processor" on behalf of a client for data collected through a system we've built and operate for them.

What we collect

On mockedup.co.nz, we only collect what you give us directly: your name, contact details, and whatever you share with us through a consultation or contact form.

We don't run advertising trackers, and we don't sell any data collected through this website.

Systems we build & operate

For systems we build and operate on behalf of a client, we only ever collect what's needed to make that system work. What's collected, and why, is set out in that client's own privacy policy where applicable.

How we use it

• To respond to consultation and contact form submissions.
• To build, run and maintain the systems we operate for clients.
• To keep our systems and website running reliably and securely.

We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run our website and the systems we operate, each receiving only what it needs to do its job. We don't share data beyond that, and we never sell personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep data only as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected for, and delete it on request where we're able to.

Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data
• Object to or restrict how we use your data
• Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format

Cookies

mockedup.co.nz doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Where a system we operate for a client runs embedded inside another platform, it may rely on that platform's own session cookies to keep a user securely logged in. Those are managed by the platform itself, not by us.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere, access-controlled databases, and verified, signed requests between the systems we operate and any platform they integrate with. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold and to limit what we collect in the first place.

Children's privacy

Our website and apps are intended for business use and are not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website, apps or legal obligations change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here, and we encourage checking back periodically.
